Rachel completed her BS in Animal Science and her PhD in Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition at UW-Madison, where her doctoral research focused on metabolism of the trace element selenium in turkeys. Additionally, she has worked extensively with mice, rats, chickens and pigs.
Rachel is an assistant researcher in the Core lab and her work focuses on rodent microsurgery, including creating models of myocardial infarction, lung disease and peripheral artery disease.
